Not quite a journal, more than a blog...A canvas for connecting dots and thoughts.
I'm a reader, but I haven't always been. I can remember years where I never picked up a book. Didn't see the need to.
Now, I read every day.
For the last few years, I've been on a mission to read as much as I possibly can. From self-help to religious texts, copywriting to psychology, and short stories to autobiographies, my goal has been to learn it all.
But that has changed recently...
I heard someone say something along the lines of - "I don't want to read all the books, I want to read the 100 best books over and over."
That's where I'm at now. Deeper knowledge, not wider.
Re-reading has quickly become one of my favorite things to do. The seventh time I read the book Rocket Fuel, it finally seemed to click. My second pass through Meditations is much more moving than the first. I've gone through The Art of War more times that I can remember, and every one brings me new insight.
I decided to start searching for (and documenting) some takeaways from each. That way I can look back at what I extracted and hopefully, futher iterate on my understanding with each pass. At the very least, these little "book reports" will serve as a reminder of what I've read.
I hope you, dear reader, enjoy these as much as I do...
PS. These are in no particular order. I'm thumbing through old notebooks and transcribing takeaways as I go.
